About Us

About

Genesis Care is a small, not for profit charitable organisation providing day-time support for older people with dementia and other disabilities in a homely environment focusing on promoting independence, strategies for maintaining life skills, social activities and reminiscence.

We offer a range of activities and therapies designed to stimulate and motivate, whilst having fun led by a skilled staff team. A two course hot meal is provided at lunchtime and refreshments available throughout the day.  Although our kitchen is on the first floor, because of a new lift that we had installed thanks to “Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery”, we can transport home produced meals downstairs to our Service Users.

We moved into new premises on 28th August 2023 and our centre is now based at 9 West Bank, Chorley. We have two lounge rooms, which has group seating with easy chairs, and exercise and craft sessions are held within the dining room. Cost varies, please contact for more information.

We hold a drop-in Carer’s Café every 4th Wednesday of the month (excluding December) from 1-3pm, refreshments are provided, for which donations are greatly appreciated.

We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

If you read the “Lorna’s Dream” page you will see our vision of the future which we can only achieve with your help. If you are able to make a donation, however small, it will be gratefully received.

Mission Statement

Our aim is to provide a person focused well-being service for older people with dementia and other disabilities. We aim to focus on strategies on building life skills, building self-confidence and self esteem.

We aim to provide a wide range of activities and therapies in a safe homely atmosphere designed to stimulate and motivate. Strengthening and maximizing individual potential can enable older people to remain in their local community for as long as possible.

We will provide an information service, which allows individuals to make informed choices regarding their futures. We will also support the carers of the service users allowing them to continue in their caring role for as long as possible.

We will employ a dedicated skilled staff team, who have a vast experience in caring for people with disabilities.
